FAQs

Is this another pitching program about changing velocity?

No. This program, Saving the Athletic Elbow, focuses on movement efficiency to reduce the risk of injury — and ultimately will enhance power, which will lead to increased velocity.

Isn’t this really just about pitch counts?

No — and that’s the whole point. Pitch count guidelines have been standard for years, but injury rates haven’t gone down. This program looks upstream, at how the hips, thoracic spine, and shoulder move together in the kinetic chain. When that sequence breaks down, the elbow absorbs the stress — no matter how carefully you count pitches.

Is this only for players who already have elbow pain, or is it for prevention too?

Both. Most coaches and parents use it proactively, to catch movement flaws before they turn into pain. But the same framework applies just as directly to a player working back from an injury — identifying and correcting the mechanical cause, not just managing the symptom.

Do I need a background in biomechanics or sports medicine to use this?

No. The program is built for coaches and parents without a medical background. You don’t need to diagnose anything — you need to know what to look for and what drill to run next, and that’s exactly what it walks you through.

What level is this designed for?

Little League and travel ball through high school, college, and professional. The movement principles are the same at every level — what changes is how you apply them to a given player’s age and stage.
